  what is dftv?

DragonflyTV is a science program for kids, by kids!

  • Want to catch air with sensational stunt skiers?
  • Curious about creepy, crawly creatures?
  • Want to show off your own science experiments on TV? You're in luck, DragonflyTV season two is taking flight!

Created by Twin Cities Public Television, the producer of the Emmy-winning
Newton's Apple, DragonflyTV is devoted entirely to science for kids 9-12. But
it's not like any science show you've ever seen - because it's real kids
doing real science! In every episode, real kids tell about their own
investigations - how they explore the science in the things they love to do.

In Season One, DragonflyTV's young scientists chased a tornado, swam with
dolphins, built robots, and tested their pets' intelligence. No question
is too far-out for DragonflyTV, and more super science is slated
for Season Two!

Here on the DragonflyTV Web site, you can read what kids did on the show, take
part
in nationwide science experiments, download a copy of the
DragonflyTV Science Journal, and -- best of all -- tell DragonflyTV what you're investigating. You might be one of the kids featured on DragonflyTV!

Plus, for teachers, parents and community workshop leaders, there are
Teacher's Guides, with lots of ideas for investigations.

Any kid who's curious about science has a chance to be on our show. Just visit our be on dftv page and tell us what you're up to, and you might be on DragonflyTV!
