  Body

Bonnie, CA | Body
The digestive process starts at your mouth. Your teeth grind the food until it small enough for you to swallow. Saliva and your tongue push the food to the back of your mouth for you to swallow. Then the food travels down the esophagus and into the stomach. While the small food particles are in your stomach, stomach acid starts to sort of melt your food into even smaller particles! Then it goes down your large intestines... after that it goes down your small intenstines and into um...the biggest waste land I know of... the toilet! This happens when you eat. What would happen if you didn't have a tongue? Well if you didn't have a tongue you would have a VERY hard time swallowing and chewing and eating!!! Stomach acid is very strong and if can even burn the human skin! Why doesn't it burn our stomach? Answer: Our stomach has a layer of mucas on the outside of it so the acid can't break through. The mucas layer desinagrates after three day though but we gro new ones!
