Nevan, OK| Evolution
How do we prove evolution? Evolution cannot be true. Period.

DragonflyTV | Evolution response
Nobody has “proven” evolution to be true. It is a theory that is consistent with the evidence that we have so far. Scientists either choose to accept the theory based on this evidence, or they choose to not accept in favor of a different theory. That’s the case for any theory in science (Big Bang; Quantum Mechanics; Relativity). It appears that you do not accept the theory of evolution, which you have the right to do.

Savannah, 8, WA | Dinosaur Facts

Gary, AK | Dinosaurs Egg
I found an egg encrusted in rock. The egg fell off a shelf and shattered. It has a hard yolk that did not break. How can I find out what this egg came from? The yolk measures approx. 1"x1/2" Thanks, Gary

Matthew, 10 NS | Dinosaurs
Dinosaurs are totally cool but really mysterious. We don't know how they died, we don't know how they acted, we don't know exactly what they looked like, and frankly I WANT TO KNOW THIS STUFF. I think kids should start this big group where they all go around to dinosaur dig sites and search for bones. It would be an awesome experience. Who's With Me?

Jordan, 8, TX | Bones
I found a dinosaur bone.

DragonflyTV | Bones response
That's great! Don't forget to go to BE ON DFTV and tell us more about the dinosaur bone that you found. We just might feature you on a future episode of DFTV.

Catalina, 12, IL | What Kinds of Dinosaurs?
I want to now what kinds of dinosaurs are there.

DragonflyTV | What Kinds of Dinosaurs? response
There are many ways to classify the dinosaurs. Some were meat-eaters, others were plant-eaters, and some were both. Another way is by the time period in which they lived. For a nice description of these categories, visit this USGS Web page for more information about dinosaurs.

Jewel 12 | I want to be a paleontologist
I want to know how I could try to be a paleontologist since not many people know what it is.

DragonflyTV | I want to be a paleontologist response
A career checking out dinosaurs is a great idea. Visit the Paleontological Research Institution Web site to learn more about this exciting career.

Justin, 13, OK| Career Searching for Dinosaurs
I'm interested in this career [Paleontology]. I have recently found a fossil near my house. For information of this career.

DragonflyTV | Career Searching for Dinosaurs response
Paleontology is an exciting career! Contact your local science museum or university to talk to an adult paleontologist to find out how to become one. Good Luck!

Jackeline, 8, CA | Dinosaur Family
i want to know how many dinosaurios where in a family?

DragonflyTV | Dinosaur Family response
We believe dinosaurs laid eggs to create their "families." We don't know exactly how many eggs each type of dinosaur would lay, however.

Yusi, 7, AZ | Dinosaur size
I think that your show is great!! I like learning about dinosaurs. I hope you make a show about them. Can you tell me how to figure out how much they weighed based on their bones? Can you help me find a field school for kids? from, Yusi

Alex, 9, ND | Future paleontologist
I want to be a paleontoligist when i grow up.Even though it's a dangerouse job because you might have to find fossils near volcanos. But i still want to do it.

Omar, 6, MD | Where did they go?

Tina, 14, NY | Dinosaurs in New York
have any one ever found dinosaurs in the city of new york. and if so what kind of dinosaur was it and how old is the bone?

DragonflyTV | Dinosaurs in New York response
Here's a message from Dr. Ed Landing, from the New York State Museum: Of the two basic types of fossils---body fossils (the actual remains of organisms bones, shells, teeth) and trace fossils (fossil behavior, as tracks, trails, burrows)---both body and trace fossils of dinosaurs are known in New York. A trackway of a bipedal dinosaur similar to Coelophysis was found in the early 1970s on the west side of the Hudson River in southern New York. This Late Triassic trackway, with eleven tracks, is on display in the New York State Museum in Albany. In addition, dinosaur teeth are known from this and several other nearby localities in New York. A spectacular dinosaur trackway can be seen at Rocky Hill State Park in Connecticut. The other extensive area of "Age of Dinosaurs" rock in New York underlies southern Staten Island and all of Long Island.

Jocelyn, 10, NJ | Future Paleontologist
Dinosaurs live 200 million years ago, when the world was hot and warm like a tropical garden.Scientist think that a giant meteor hit the Earth and quild the Dinosaurs.NOw Palentologist dig for fossils to learn more about Dinosaurs.I think I want to be an Palentologist when I grow up!

Russ, 12, Connecticut | Finding bones
I live in Connecticut, where are the most dinosaur bones found?

DragonflyTV | Finding bones response
It’s believed dinosaurs roamed the entire earth, even in Connecticut. But unless your area has rocks of the right age no dinosaur traces or remains will have been preserved. Many dinosaurs are found in the Cretaceous and Jurassic deposits of the western United States, Mongolia and China. For a map check out the book Dinosauria, (U of California).

Greg, 11, Michigan | Age of amber
Fossils are often found in Amber. What’s the oldest fossil found in Amber?

DragonflyTV | Age of amber response
Amber is hardened tree resin. Some of the ancient resin trapped whole anthropods and plant pollens. Scientists can extract DNA from the anthropods or plant pollen. According to the New York Public Library Science Desk Reference, the oldest fossil DNA came from a 120-135 million-year-old weevil.
