  Sand Dunes

Greg , OH | GREAT JOB
I watched "dragonflytv" on my PBS station this morning in Cleveland, Ohio on "Ecosystems". I Thought it was very interesting when the two young girl scientists measured the amount of moisture in the different sand dunes: fore dunes had the most, next was scrub and third was the active ones, with no moisture at all. GREAT JOB, Victoria and Alajandra! And Michael and Marko are great hosts. Sincerely, a fan of the show, Greg from Akron/ Copley Ohio. Our great young people can learn and do a lot of interesting things. Good show!

Are sand dunes all the same?

April, 11, CA | Sand Dunes...reply
My guess is that all sand dunes are different in at least on way, since wind shapes and forms them all the time. However, there are five basic types of sand dunes. You can go here for some pictures of them: http://pubs.usgs.gov/gip/deserts/dunes/
