The fish was weird when I touched it. It was very dry and flaky.

The expirement i did is Fish Mummy. i got a moharra tilapia whole
fish at the store. i also bought baking soda. it weighed 470 grams
befor i did anything to it. since we only had less than a week,
i did exactly what you said in the paper but in different times.
i checked the fish on the third day. the baking soda was brown.
it felt not that dry though. it smelled really bad and fishy. on
the fourth day when i dusted the baking soda off, i weighed it and
it was 233 grams. i continued to put baking soda on it after i was
done and then i left it in the refrigerater for the next few days.
on the 6th day, i dustes it off again. it lokked dry and felt dryer
than the first four days(especially the tail). it smelled the exact
same way on the 4th day, fishy and really bad. on that day it was
128 grams.

On
October 3, 2003 my mom and I purchased a Croaker fish from the grocery
store. At the grocery store the fish weighed 1.6 pounds and after
cleaning and removing the internal organs from the fish it weighed
.6 pounds. the fish looked shiny and normal, but without the movement.
The fish felt slimy, slippery and I could hardly pick it up or even
get a grip on it. The fish had a strong fishy smell. Another characteristic
of the fish is it couldn't hold its shape. the sides of the fish
were sunken in. I prepared the fish for mummification by packing
the abdominal cavity and burying the fish in baking soda and putting
it in the refrigerator. On October 9th, I removed the fish from
the refrigerator, dusted off the baking soda and re-weighed the
fish. The baking soda was turning yellow and moist around the fish,
but the outer baking soda was dry. The fish weighed .6 pounds, again
for the second time. The fish looked harder and it could hold its
shape more than it did on October 3rd. The fish also was not as
floppy as before, because the fish was beginning to dry up. However,
the fish was not hardened all the way, it could still be bent. The
fish's body was looking dull and rougher to the touch and the fish
smell wasn't as strong. Another characteristic I saw was the eyes
starting to sink into the head. When I was done with my observation
and re-weighing, I repacked the fish in baking soda and put it back
into the refrigerator. The final weighing of the fish was on October
16th. The fish weighed .4 pounds. this time the fish was even stiffer
than before and if I bent the head it would stay in that position
until I bent it back. The baking soda was yellow and moist again
around the fish's body and the smell was even less.

First I bought the the fish at the super market. I washed it and
buried it in baking soda inside and out. I left the fish in the
refrigerator for about a week. A week later , I took the fish out
and weighed it. Before I put it in the refrigerator it weighed 13.52
ounces. After a week the fish weighed 9.28 ounces which means it
lost weight. It felt the same. It looked the same but it smelled
like raw meat.

Boy
did we have fun and does our fish Look great. We cant believe how
much weight he lost in the first week. We were thinking that this
could be a new diet, but then realized that we would be taking out
all of our water, so it would probably not be a big hit with the
public. Following is our results. Please pick us to be on T.V.,
the other guys would be honored.
Week 1: Weight =1.82 lbs. Feels: It feels rough to the touch. Smells:
Like a fish from the sea, pretty strong. Looks: like the Salmon
I had for dinner!
Week 2: Weight =1.5 lbs. Feels: It feels smoother, kinda slimy.
Smells: It still smells like fish but not has strong as on week
1 Looks: Sort of shriveled up, paler not as much color.
Week 3: Weight = 1.2 lbs. Feels: It feels polished rock smooth.
Smells: It smells like an air freshener. Looks: Most water drained
from it, looked much drier

The
first thing I did was weigh the fish. It weighed 420 grams. Then
I observed the fish. It was really smelly and kind of moist. After
that I coated the fish from the outside and stuffed the inside with
baking soda. I put it inside the refrigerator and after a week I
took it out again.
When I took it out again the first thing I did was weigh the fish
with the baking soda still stuffed inside of it. It weighed 425
grams. Then I took out the baking soda and weighed it again. This
time it weighed 405 grams. When I observed the fish it wasn't really
smelly and it was really dry. The fish looks like when I first bought
it, but not to moist.

The
experiment I did was the Mummy Wrap. First I went to go buy a fish
and baking soda. Then I weight it. It weight 1791/2grams. Next I
covered the fish in baking soda from the inside and the outside.
I put in the refrigerator for two entire weeks. After the two entire
weeks it weight127 grams. It felt a little bit different. It felt
smushy, smelled like something frozen, and looked mummified. I really
enjoyed doing this experiment I wish I could do it again.
