  Rocks

Stephanie | Studying Rocks
I have been studying all kinds of rocks and where they are on the gray
scale. In case you don't know the gray scale is a scale which shows how much
silica is in each kind of rock. Also, a group from my science class is building a life size model of the
earth we're not done yet, but I can't wait to see when its finished!
Good luck on your show!

Many of you might not know that you can make a real radio using a crystal. Do a Web search for crystal radio kits. There are lots of clubs and Web sites which tell youhow to make one of these inexpensive radios. If you build a crystal radio, let us know how you did it.

Sandy, 10, Nevada | Crystal rocks
My sister and I make rock candy. We dissolve sugar in a glass and tie a string to a pencil. Then we dangle the string in the sugar water. After a few days or weeks, rock candy forms. It’s really cool.
