  Soup Can Derby!

Stephen, NC | Soup Can Derby
The broth moved better than the cream soup and the chunky meat and veigge because it was lighter inside than the chunky stuff

Cyle, NY | Soup Can Derby
My results are the same as Harrisons.

Kendah, IL | Soup Can Derby
i thiught cream soup rolled best
let me no soon

Robert | Soup Can Derby
Chunkie meat and veggie made it down the fastest. The ramp was long and at a 45 degree tilt.

Angelica, NY | Soup Can Derby
the cream soup rolled fast. Ithink this happen beause it was light

Maude, CA | Soup Can Derby
Dear DFTV, My name is Maude. My brother Samuel and I did the can race. We found that if you put tape on the sides it will go slower. the score out of 10 was #2, 2/10 : #1, 8/10., #2 was the one with tape. I tried putting a tape bump in the road, but that didn't slow them down. It was a tie. I hope you like what I found out. Sincerely, mad Maude

Izzak, CA | Soup Can Derby
the can of chunky soup rolled faster then the athers.

Jesse, WI | Soup Can Derby
i think that the chunky meat and veggies would win because it probably has more mass which should make it roll faster I THINK MY idea might be right.

Jeroen, WI | Soup Can Derby
i think chunky meat and veggies because it is heavier and it has meat and veggies.

Chelsea, PA | Soup Can Derby
I used an empty soda can and an empty tin can (that's all I could find). The soda can won by a second. The resalts of the race were:soda-1.2 tin-2.2.

John, PA | Soup Can Derby
During my experiment that I did on Saturday Night, the Campbell's Soup at hand worked 100% well if you ask me. On the First round both cans didn't go as far as planned because of the way the ramp was built. However I got more good luck in the 2nd round. The pizza soup's measurement was, I'd go for 72 feet from my ramp to the kitchen. The velvity potato soup's measurement was tied. For the Third round I got individual results. The Velvety Potato got at least 15 feet and the Pizza got 30 feet through the kitchen. I'm not sure about the ramps though.

Josiah, MA | Soup Can Derby
The cream soup faster than the other soups.

Gabriela, MN | Soup Can Derby
I found out that it was the chunky meat and veggie soup it rolled down the fastest down the ramp

Alex, SD | Soup Can Derby
chunky meat and veggie is heavier then broth and cream soup.

Henry, WA | Soup Can Derby
I tested each one against each other. The final race left me with the chunky meat and veggie versus cream soup and the cream soup won.

Joe, MN | Soup Can Derby
broth of the cans rolled.

Patience, WI | Soup Can Derby
I did what it said Broth is wayyy faster!

Ethan, PA | Soup Can Derby
i did it and the soup one

Jonel, FL | Taste question
my reasults are How does smelling food affect the taste?

Charissa, KY | Soup Can Derby
They were all the same. But an olive can was a little slower because it kept flipping around.

Miya, Germany | Soup Can Derby
It was really fun I raced and the lightest and smallest can with not that many things inside was faster then the biggest heaviest. Thanks for your time!

Ben, RI | Fast Broth
Used small, medium and large cans.
Broth, vegetable, soup etc.
Broth was the clear winner every time.

Aidan, NM | Speedy Chicken Noodle
We tested Chicken Noodle Soup (chunky), Tomato Soup (broth), and canned mixed corn (creamy). We found the Chicken Noodle Soup to be fastest because it was the heaviest can. The corn was the largest can but the lightest and didn't move as fast.

Jonathan, Edgar, Carlos, Aldo, Carlos, VA | Soup Can Derby
We observe that there are different types of cans. The cans have different sizes, shapes and weighs. Some cans are small, others are big, some are heavy and others are light, some are thick and others are thin. A group member (Aldo) observed that there were two different "teams" of cans, the "liquid team" formed by the soda and juice cans and the "solid team" formed by the corns, green beans and others. Another group member (Carlos) wanted to find out if the cans were going to roll further on a rough surface (carpet) or a smooth surface (floor). We decided that first we wanted to find out which cans would roll furthest distance, the heavy cans or the light cans.
We learned that light cans roll further than the heavy cans on a rough surface (carpet) because they do not have much weight that can slow them down. We would like to further try experiments with more cans and with different variables.

Jaime, CA | Soup Can Derby
I did the soup can derby race. To do this project I got a piece of board and leaned it against the sofa in my living room. On this platform I raced eight different cans form the cupboard. I chose various sizes and weights of cans. The skinnny tall can of Campbell's Cream of Chicken soup was the fastest of all eight cans I tested. I tested tuna, tomato sauce, beans, jalapenos, corn, cream of chicken, chopped olives, and whole pinto beans (with juice). The can of chopped olives came in second!

Erik, MN | Soup Can Derby
After head-to-head competitions, Juicy Juice was determined to be the fastest can of those racing. The can of mushrooms took second place, while the can of pears took third. The can of peas was the slowest of the cans that raced. It was hard to get a decent guess on which can would go down the ramp the fastest because I didn't have very many cans that were similar in size or weight. I still learned that if the cans are the same size, weight, and height, the can with the runnier liquid would roll down our ramp the fastest (Juicy Juice versus the 50 ounce can of Campbell Tomato Soup). All the other cans that I raced which were the same size, weight, and height (corn, tomato sauce, and black beans) placed right next to each other.
