Decide what question you want to answer
Now that you have some information under your belt, it's
time to plan your investigation. Here are some basic guidelines
to follow as you begin the planning process.
Think
about the purpose of your investigation. What is the question
you want to research? Try to write the question in the form:
How does A relate to B?
For
example, if you're interested in rockets think about a
question that asks more than just, "How do rockets work?"
Instead ask "How does the weight of a model rocket affect
how high the rocket flies?"
Here
are some other examples:
•
How does the behavior of sea lions at the zoo relate to
the type of fish the zookeepers feed them?
• How does your score on a memory test relate to how
much exercise you do beforehand? next...
